Neck Lift

Your neck and jaw line are very important aspects of your facial appearance. When a person carries excess skin and tissue around the neck, the prominence of the jawline and the angular qualities of the lower face are lost. Fortunately, a neck lift can remove this tissue and restore proper contour to the neck area.

How to know if a neck lift is right for you

Ideal candidates for this procedure will have excess skin below the chin (often called a turkey neck), sagging jowls or a sagging platysma muscle.  Patients that are healthy non-smokers generally get better results and are therefore preferred. If the cosmetic problem you exhibit is caused by excess fat, you may be a better candidate for liposuction of the chin and neck.

How a neck lift is performed

During a neck lift, loose skin is separated from underlying tissue and gently pulled up and back. Excess skin is removed while sagging muscles and connective tissues are tightened. Fatty deposits may be removed from the chin and neck. Small sutures are used to close the incisions.
